From a simple idea to redefining compliance.
After years working in cybersecurity, Srikant Rachakonda, SMPL-C CEO and Founder, recognized a core problem: managing CMMC documentation was manual, repetitive, and far too complex. Inspired to rethink the process, he envisioned a modern, AI-driven platform that would make compliance simple, scalable, and accessible.
The idea took shape when SMPL-C®, short for “Simple Compliance, was founded. The mission was clear: help compliance experts, MSPs, and defense contractors reduce the burden of documentation and gain clarity around CMMC requirements and processes.
Yash Kumar joined as SMPL-C’s Co-Founder and CTO, laying the technical foundation for the platform and leading the development of its GenAI-powered capabilities. Yash is an accomplished engineering leader in AI system architecture at large organizations such as Tata Consulting, Comcast, and Zinnia.
With early traction building, SMPL-C® was selected for the Harbor Entrepreneur Center accelerator and later accepted into the prestigious Mach37 Cyber Accelerator, known as the “Y Combinator of Cybersecurity.” The team launched its MVP, giving users a hands-on way to understand and manage their compliance programs more effectively.
Jody Stoehr, a seasoned entrepreneur with three exits, initially joined the team as an Accelerator mentor but quickly became SMPL-C’s Co-Founder and CRO to lead the go-to-market strategy and scale the company's commercial rollout. SMPL-C® opened Early Access to the product, engaging its first wave of commercial users.
As the regulatory landscape evolved, SMPL-C® added strategic expertise to its Board of Advisors. Ken Bible, the former CISO of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, brought deep knowledge of federal cybersecurity. Paul Anuszkiewicz, a seasoned operator, an exited entrepreneur, and a venture partner, joined to support product growth and startup scale.
The company also expanded its ecosystem of partners, working closely with CMMC Registered Practitioner Organizations (RPOs), MSPs, and MSSPs to help them deliver compliance programs faster and more efficiently. At the same time, SMPL-C® began supporting larger defense contractors, including Mandex, Atlas Tech, and C3EL, by providing a repeatable, scalable CMMC program to meet the ongoing regulatory documentation requirements.
The company's vision was affirmed when the CMMC rule (32 CFR) was officially enacted later that year. Throughout 2024, the team continued growing across product, sales, marketing, engineering, and operations to meet rising demand.
To support long-term growth and strategic direction, SMPL-C® welcomed Manish Mehta to its Board of Advisors. Manish, an experienced CEO, an exited entrepreneur, and angel investor, brought deep go-to-market, financial, and sales experience.
